Museu do Ar, near Sintra, hosts our travelling exhibition about Stanko Bloudek who was an outstanding engineer, aircraft constructor and all-round innovator, as well as an athlete, sports official and promoter of physical culture in Slovenia. Exhibition is a part of an international museum exchange, as we have already hosted portuguese exhibition about the first flight across the South Atlantic in April.

Bloudek’s  interests were driven by curiosity and cosmopolitanism. Bloudek also realized his vision of a flying man by constructing airplanes, ski jumps at home and around the world.

In Portugal, among other things, a model of the giant ski jump and a pair of women’s Elan jump skis are on display.

Exhibition about this great aviation pioneer and inventor has been first prepared in our museum on the 50th anniversary of his death and displayed in 2009.

We will continue to build on the cooperation with the Portuguese museum in the future.
